WELCOME TO LANARK PRIMARY SCHOOL ONLINE

School Improvement Planning

We now include a standing item in each month’s newsletter, detailing some of our School Improvement Work. This month, we are detailing some of our work in becoming a #ReadingSchool- GOLD AWARD. This involves fostering an enjoyment of reading across the ELC and school and encouraging good reading habits.

We have started back up with our very popular LPS Book Club which supports not only a reading culture but the cost of the school day.

Please see also a message below from our Reading Pupil Leadership Team in Room 8:

The Reading Leadership Group would like to start up a children's book swap station, similar to our school uniform and shoe rail.  We plan to have a shelf of children's books outside the school office. Parents/Carers would be able to choose books to take home for their children to read, then return and swap them for new books.

We would also like to set up another children's book swap shelf in Feenans Keystore , across from Kildare Park, which would operate in the same way.

We are looking for the following donation items.  If you can help out, please send them in to the school office!

  • Children's picture books, novels, magazines, annuals, poetry books etc that you don't use or need any more
  • A low bookshelf with two or three shelves, if you happen to be getting rid of one!

Thank you in advance!
