WELCOME TO LANARK PRIMARY SCHOOL ONLINE

Homework

As stated in last month’s newsletter, our formal Homework will begin again in October (week beginning 5th

October 2020). We also mentioned that we would be looking to share the Homework overview online using

Google Classrooms. We are now in a position to explain further what this will look like.

Similarly to ‘Lockdown’, each child has been assigned to a Google Classroom. They will be able to access the

classroom via their Glow login details. Further information and help sheets will be made available, as well as

teachers giving extra practice to learners during the school day.

All weekly Homework tasks will be shared in the classroom, however, it is important to note that not all tasks

will require online completion e.g. Reading, Big Maths Learn Its, Spelling work in jotters etc.

We have made this decision for a number of reasons:

  • Resources coming to and from home to school have to be minimised wherever possible.
  • There is an assumption that children will be able to access their learning online in the event
  • of a teacher/ child needing to self- isolate.
  • With the use of Communication/Homework diaries on hold, this online platform will provide
  • a way of teachers and parents/carers being able to comment on learning tasks.

All children will receive a ‘pack’ from the school detailing log-in details, new passwords etc. before the first

week of Homework commences.

Please find below a link to a survey about your current digital access:

All other tasks will be able to be read through a phone, for example, with work completed

orally or recorded in a Homework jotter.
