We hope that you have managed to enjoy some sunshine during the school's Spring Break and that you are keeping well.
We are now ready to launch our Online Home Learning through Google Classrooms for use by our learners from tomorrow.
Don’t worry if you do not know what this is! We have created our own special website dedicated to all things Online Learning and Google Classroom! This provides in depth videos and materials to help you or your child navigate their online learning (if using a mobile device, some videos may request your child's glow login, but these videos can be accessed without this if using a laptop/ chromebook).
Learners will be able to communicate with their own teacher(s) through Google Classroom as well as completing activities off and online to further their learning. We will continue to provide fun learning activities through our Twitter page (you can see these in the app if you don't have Twitter).
Please find a link to the website below:
(This link can also be found on Lanark Primary School & ELC website under Parent Zone > Useful Links)
The first main steps are for your child to log in to their Glow Account and then click on the Google Classroom Tab on the Launch Pad. Please use GOOGLE CHROME as your internet browser to ensure all videos and activities will work.
If there are any issues with your child’s Glow login, we have set up a dedicated email address for you to use. Please provide your child’s full name and the issue you are experiencing, and we will help to sort it out. This may be a simple case of resetting your child’s password or providing the details of logins if you do not have them.
Please contact us using the email address below:

We are also planning on creating another Home Learning Pack (paper based) as we understand that not all children have access to online learning. We still have some logistics to work out in terms of accessing the school/sending out/collection but will let you know when this is ready. This will include a booklet for our early learners.
We hope that you can encourage your child to access this new online platform. Teachers will be able to respond to questions and make comments on submitted work online. We understand that our younger learners will depend on you to help them with some of the activities, so we appreciate your support!
Most importantly however, do not put yourself or your children under any undue pressure. They will hopefully enjoy the chance to communicate and collaborate with each other and their teachers, as well as completing some work too. We want this to be an enjoyable experience so access what suits and when. There is no expectation for all activities to be completed and returned! Our learners' (and your) happiness remains our main priority!
Please remember that this platform is for online learning and should be used for that purpose only.
Teachers will not be accessing the Classroom for whole days at a time and may take time to respond to questions or comments. Many will be volunteering in the Childcare Hub on different weeks, and they also have other workloads to manage. Your child’s teacher(s) will guide and help learners wherever possible. This ensures that we all have realistic expectations of what can be done online.
Please continue to take care and stay safe.
Any non-ICT related questions should be directed through the App.
Many thanks and good luck!
