We firmly believe that reading, and a love of it, is a gateway to learning and, as such, we encourage children to read every day. We also have highlighted Reading for Enjoyment as an area of development, with LPS going for Reading Schools Accreditation- GOLD AWARD.

All learners across the ELC and school took part in a range of book related activities throughout the week beginning 14th November to help promote a love of ‘all things books’! This included: 'Decorate your Door' competition, judged by Lanark Fire Service; LPS River of Reading; Authors Live Events; An ELC Family Bookbug Session and much more!

Many thanks to our Reading Leaders in Room 8 for leading the school on this work and congratulations to those children who received a Reading Award at assembly! Well done to Room 2 who won the decorate your door competition with their Elmer inspired door!
