WELCOME TO LANARK PRIMARY SCHOOL ONLINE

Future Home Learning

We understand that schools have chosen a number of ways to share home learning as we move forward in these unprecedented circumstances.

LPS took the decision as a school that prior to the holidays, our learning would come from the packs provided. This would allow us as a staff to work behind the scenes on the logistics of using ICT for home learning  when we know that not all our learners will be able to access it.

There will be opportunities for learners to communicate with teachers going forward after the holidays but it is important to note that this may not always be daily as we have many volunteering to work in the Emergency Childcare Hubs, even last week, this week, as well as over the coming weeks (this will also impact on when staff are available as they may be working during the 'holidays', so will be unavailable during other weeks). We are very proud of #TeamLPS.
For the moment, our Twitter feed is providing many suggestions of fun activities and we have been replying to all of the posts about activities carried out (please follow us and set up notifications). We also have the Home Learning grid and packs containing worksheets already printed for as much ease as possible. Our P3-7 Homework Diaries also provide lots of key information. Continue to check out our website for updates and links.
Going forward,  ICT will play a larger role in the way we communicate and support our learners and but this will take place after Spring Break, and within the guidance set by SLC. We will still strive to provide alternatives to ICT based tasks where we can.

In the meantime, learners can email teachers through their Glow accounts as needed, as we appreciate that this is a difficult time for everyone.  (any problems with this, let me know, all communication should be realistic!)

Please remember, all activities provided are suggestions, there will be many learning opportunities that you can provide that will just as effective (cooking, gardening, discussing a TV programme together), and the beauty is, we won't even ask you to write a report at the end of it! laugh

Maybe try some sort of routine, keep activities simple, use the resources available/provided, use what's in the house to support skills for life but most of all, TRY NOT TO WORRY OR STRESS about home learning. Once this is all over, we want everyone to be able to look back and think that they enjoyed the time spent with their family, in their home, learning alongside each other.

Please share any good news stories/achievements with us (email through the app or share on Twitter)
Take care and stay safe heart
