WELCOME TO LANARK PRIMARY SCHOOL ONLINE

Christmas at Lanark Primary School

VIPs- We will be celebrating our children’s achievements by continuing with the Christmas VIP (Very Important People) Award. Every day from now until Christmas, two or three children from each class will be VIPs for the day and will be treated to a special table with Christmas decorations at lunchtime. They will be first in to the canteen, whether they are packed lunch or school dinner, and sit at tables decorated for Christmas. Each child will receive a small treat to enjoy.

Sing a Song for Christmas-The annual Christian Aid Carol Concert takes place in St Mary’s Church on Thursday 13th December at 7.30pm. We hope many of you will be able to attend. Our choir, led by Miss Rattray, will be singing two beautiful songs and are looking forward to a lovely evening.

Carol Singers in the Community-Miss Oswald and Room 5 will be going along to McClymont House on Wednesday 12th December to perform to some of the town’s senior citizens. This is always a well-received performance and we’re sure the children will enjoy the experience.  They will then visit Tesco Lanark the next day, Thursday 13th December at 1:30pm, to perform their songs. Please pop in if you can to support them.

Christmas Lunch- Lunch will be served in the cafeteria on Thursday 13th December and the menus have already been distributed to the children.

Parties-Please take note of the dates for parties in the 'Calendar' tab. The parties all take place in the afternoon (P7s after school) and a special visitor will come to the ELC, P1 and P2 parties. School children who are getting ready at home will leave/be collected at 12 noon this year and should return for 1pm.

Pantomime -School children will visit Lanark Memorial Hall on Friday 7th December to see ‘Snow White and the Seven Little Muppets’ and we’re sure the children will have a fantastic time! We will provide children with a snack and drink for this and as already stated, the Parent Council are part funding the tickets- thank you!

P1/2 Nativity- Our afternoon performance of the P1s and P2s Nativity, ‘Christmas Recipe’, took place today (Tuesday).  The children entertained family and friends with their fabulous singing and acting on stage. There are now a few ‘extra’ tickets available for tomorrow’s performance (Wednesday) for those needing more than three. Please let the office know if you require any more.

ELC Nativity- Our early learners in the playroom have been working hard to learn their songs for their performance to parents/carers on Wednesday 12th December at 10am and 2pm.  Please join us afterwards for refreshments at the back of the hall.

Christmas Jumper Day Friday 21st December- Please remember, if you have any old Christmas jumpers that may be of use to someone else feel free to hand these in to the office.
